Saint Vincent Visiting Writers’ Series

I founded the Saint Vincent College Visiting Writers Series in 2008. The series targets international writers in translation as well as writers from Western Pennsylvania. Our visitors include winners of the National Book Awards in Poetry and Translation, Guggenheim and MacArthur fellows, and well as major international literary awards. View archived readings by Horacio Castellanos Moya, Carmen Gimenez Smith, Eduardo Chirinos, Joy Katz, Rachel Galvin, and Abby Chabitnoy. Other readers have included Ben Lerner, Maria Negroni, Valerie Mejer Caso, Rick Hilles, and Daniel Borzutzky.

Eulalia Books Events

Since its inception in 2018, Eulalia Books has introduced a new series of community-targeted book launches, writer/translator Q&A events, and workshops into the regular programming of the Visiting Writers’ Series. With a unique focus on not just the practice, but the poetics, of translation, we have featured such notable translator-poets as Erin Moure, Jesse Lee Kercheval, Robin Myers, and Jeannine Pitas.
